IT services company ITCEN Ntech said on Feb. 12 it held a preliminary and critical design review meeting at its Gwacheon headquarters for the “Minor Performance Improvement for the Brigade-Level Scientific Combat Training System” project, hosted by the Defence Acquisition Program Administration’s Scientific Systems Project Team.
The company said the project is characterised by the application of new technologies including AI. It said AI-based object recognition will be used to secure the reliability of measuring mortar direction angles. It also said AI will automatically convert combat training video and communications-network audio into data, enabling customised learning management based on that data.
Lee Gyu-jun (이규준), executive director and head of ITCEN Ntech’s defence business division, said cooperation with related agencies including the Defence Acquisition Program Administration, the Defence Agency for Technology and Quality and the Korea Rapid Acquisition Technology Research Institute has made it possible to meaningfully strengthen the military’s combat power. He said the company will concentrate its organisation-wide capabilities to ensure the successful test and evaluation of the system going forward.
