Wemade continued a second straight year of operating profit on cost efficiency.

Wemade said in a filing on Feb. 11 that its 2025 consolidated annual sales were 614.0 billion won, operating profit 10.7 billion won and net loss for the period 28.0 billion won.

Annual sales fell 13.7 percent from a year earlier, when "Night Crows" was a hit overseas. Operating profit rose 51.2 percent on the effects of efficient cost management. The company swung to a net loss after reflecting gains and losses from the valuation of investment assets.

For the fourth quarter, it posted sales of 191.7 billion won, operating profit of 24.3 billion won and a net loss for the period of 36.5 billion won. Sales and operating profit rose 16.3 percent and 42.3 percent, respectively, from a year earlier.

The strong fourth-quarter performance was driven by new releases and licensing revenue. It reflected results from "Legend of Ymir," released to the global market in October last year, and an upfront payment from a China licensing agreement for "The Legend of Mir 2" and "The Legend of Mir 3." Overseas sales accounted for about 78 percent, expanding for a third consecutive quarter.

Wemade plans to expand its lineup of new titles this year based on stable performance from existing intellectual property. It is developing more than 20 new titles.

It will first expand "Legend of Ymir" to the Steam platform. It then plans to sequentially release the next titles, including "Night Crows 2" and "Mir 5," to accelerate its push into overseas markets. In 2027, it plans to unveil a triple-A new title, "Project Tal."

Wemade is also pushing simultaneous launches in South Korea and globally based on "One Build" as a core strategy. It plans to fully adopt this from "Night Crows 2" to maximise early momentum after release.
