Krafton’s creative studio Unknown Worlds said on Feb. 11 it will release the open-world survival crafting games "Subnautica" and "Subnautica: Below Zero" for Nintendo Switch 2 on Feb. 17.

The company said it has significantly improved graphics quality to match Nintendo Switch 2’s upgraded hardware performance. When connected to a TV through the Switch 2 dock, it runs at 1440p resolution. In handheld mode, it runs at 1080p. Both modes support smooth visuals at 60 frames per second, offering deeper immersion. It also said control functions optimised for Joy-Con 2, the Nintendo Switch 2 controller, enable more precise and intuitive operation.

Krafton also announced an upgrade policy for existing users. Users who already own Subnautica or Subnautica: Below Zero on Nintendo Switch can access the Nintendo eShop and download the upgrade pack for Nintendo Switch 2 at no additional cost.

Michael Baret (마이클 베렛), a producer director at Unknown Worlds, said, "Subnautica is a work that goes beyond simple survival to address communication with an unfamiliar world." He said, "The deep sea of 4546B unfolding on Nintendo Switch 2 will offer new discoveries for existing fans and an unforgettable shock for explorers experiencing it for the first time."
