KT said on Tuesday it will operate a Genie TV Lunar New Year special section, titled “Everything you want to watch is on Genie TV,” from Feb. 13 to 22.
The event is being run under the concept, “An exciting Lunar New Year, Genie will do it all!” Viewers can watch 20 recent films including “Heartman,” “Anaconda (2025)” and “Project Y.” The company will also give limited-edition goods such as character mice to 400 customers who buy “Zootopia 2.”
A large-scale prize event for users will also run from Feb. 12 to 19. Among customers who buy at least 1 VOD title, KT will hold a draw to provide a “Lunar New Year filial piety package” that includes massage chairs, a “Valentine’s date package” with hotel stay vouchers, third-generation AirPods Pro, and 5,000 won gift certificates for CU and Baedal Minjok. It will also give away robot vacuum cleaners and Air Dressers through an event for all “All G” customers, and provide new monthly plan subscribers with 10,000 won in TV points and a chance to win an air purifier.
On Kidsland, its service for infants and young children, KT will run “Kidsland Lunar New Year Playground” from Feb. 13 to 19, offering free access to about 1,500 popular titles. Users can enjoy major children’s content such as “Bebefinn” and “TiniPing” without limit. The company will give 100,000 won Shinsegae gift certificates and toys to 300 new Prime Kidsland subscribers.
Choi Kwang-cheol (최광철), head of KT’s Media Platform Business Division, said, “We prepared abundant content and benefits so the whole family can enjoy the holiday break.” He added, “We will continue to be a platform where people can conveniently watch everything from the latest films to children’s content.”
