[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] An early figure in the XRP community said it would be difficult to achieve financial freedom simply by holding 20,000 XRP, tempering expectations among small investors. The person stressed that a simple price rise cannot guarantee long-term financial stability.

On Jan. 1, local time, blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported that the XRP network OG said many investors underestimate the asset scale needed for financial freedom. Even if XRP reaches triple digits, the person said, holders may struggle to gain the level of freedom they expect if their holdings are not large enough.

The person said that if XRP rises to $100, a holder of 20,000 units would have assets of about $2 million. But after factoring in taxes, living expenses, unexpected spending and rising living standards, the amount would not guarantee long-term financial stability, the person said.

$1 million to $2 million may look like a large sum in the short term, but purchasing power can quickly decline due to inflation and rising living costs, the person said. The person added that younger investors would need to preserve their assets for 30 to 50 years, making it difficult to expect financial freedom from a simple price rise alone.

The person said growing voices argue that sustainable asset size and long-term financial planning matter more than short-term price targets for genuine financial freedom.

Last year, crypto analyst King Vale advised investors to hold at least 50,000 XRP. The figure corresponds to about the top 0.5 percent of XRP holders, and the analyst argued that small holdings make it hard to fully benefit from XRP's potential growth.

But another community figure, Xena, disputed the claim, calling the 50,000 XRP target misinformation. Xena said financial knowledge and strategic asset management matter more than the number of tokens held, adding that small holders can still deliver sufficient results if they use an appropriate investment strategy.
