AI model optimisation firm Nota said on Wednesday it has joined the government-led K-Moonshot project and will pursue technology cooperation to commercialise physical AI.

Nota joined the project officially by taking part in a public-private cooperation signing ceremony held a day earlier. The ceremony brought together 33 AI and ICT companies including LG AI Research, SK Telecom, Naver Cloud and KT.

The K-Moonshot promotion strategy is a large national research and development programme aimed at AI-based science and technology innovation and stronger global competitiveness. It aims to double research productivity by 2030 and use AI to address 12 missions across 8 areas by 2035. The scope of cooperation spans a proof-of-concept for AI agents that support science and technology research, cooperation and localisation of computing infrastructure such as GPUs and NPUs, and the full AI process including building, refining and distributing AI research data.

Nota will carry out on-device AI technology cooperation based on its proprietary AI platform, NetsPresso. NetsPresso is a platform that can optimise and deploy AI models for hardware specifications while maintaining accuracy and reducing model size by up to more than 90 percent.

Nota will also serve as a bridge between domestic AI models and NPUs. It plans to provide optimisation and model slimming so that domestic AI models produced from projects developing proprietary AI foundation models and specialised models can run on various domestic NPUs. The technology is expected to be used in physical AI areas such as robots and industrial automation.

Nota CEO Myungsoo Chae (채명수) said, "Based on the technological capabilities we have accumulated in on-device AI, we will help bring forward the commercialisation of physical AI and play a pivotal role in providing optimised AI models that can be used in actual research settings."
