Coinbase has started cryptocurrency and equity index futures trading in 26 European countries, Cointelegraph reported on March 9.

The service is available to Coinbase Advanced users. It includes bitcoin and solana futures, as well as “Magnificent 7+ crypto stock index futures” made up of Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Meta and Tesla. This is part of a strategy for Coinbase to move toward becoming an integrated exchange spanning cryptocurrencies and traditional markets, Cointelegraph said.

Coinbase is launching two types of cash-settled futures contracts. It will offer perpetual futures with a five-year maturity and contracts with monthly and quarterly expiries. Some cryptocurrency and equity index futures will offer up to 10 times leverage, and trading fees were set at 0.02 percent per contract.

Recently, Coinbase has expanded its decentralised exchange (DEX) platform to 84 countries, accelerating its global service expansion.
