Polymarket is partnering with Circle to replace bridged USDC.e used on Polygon with native USDC, The Block reported on Feb. 5.

Polymarket is a Polygon-based prediction market. It has converted funds coming in from various chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum and Base, into USDC.e for trading and settlement. Circle plans to launch a Polymarket-specific native USDC in the coming months.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire (제레미 알레어) said, "Through the partnership with Polymarket, we will maximize the utility and speed of USDC to improve the user experience." USDC is currently issued on 30 chains, and Circle plans to expand native support and strengthen interoperability by 2026.

Polymarket has hinted at the possibility of introducing its own token, POLY, and is also reviewing whether to launch an application-specific layer-2.
