Naver invited specialist Clip creators across fields to share future measures to support creators and service direction, and moved to upgrade the short-form ecosystem.

Naver said on March 9 it held the third Clip Creators Day on March 8 with its Clip team at its 1784 headquarters building.

◆AI editor to be introduced within the year, analytics tools to be diversified

Clip unveiled plans to strengthen technical support so creators can produce content more conveniently and analyse performance to set future strategies. It plans to introduce an artificial intelligence (AI) editor within the year to further simplify the production process. The AI editor is expected to significantly improve convenience by automatically sorting and collecting videos and images filmed in the same place, analysing media information and attaching information tags, and recommending hashtags and music that match the content.

It will also strengthen functions of the Clip Creator application, which Clip creators use to check content metrics and settle revenue. It plans to newly provide analysis for post-type content, add detailed tools such as traffic sources and viewing time, and support creators in viewing and managing at a glance programmes for generating revenue such as this month’s hashtag mission, the Creator Monthly Awards and this month’s activity mission.

◆Scope of revenue support to be expanded, Clip tab revamp to support fandom building

Clip has steadily expanded creator compensation by actively reflecting short-form consumption trends in its revenue model. After revamping its compensation structure last year to include consumption on feed surfaces such as the home feed, it will this year greatly expand monetisation beyond short-form videos to include post-type content combining text and images.

Naver also plans a full revamp of the Clip tab within the Naver application so creators’ content can lead to fandom building. The new Clip tab will consist of “Explore,” which helps viewers discover videos from new creators that suit their tastes, “Subscribe,” which delivers new content from creators they like without missing it, and “My Clip Board,” which lets users manage at a glance the content they created.

Naver Chief Data and Content Officer (CDO) Kwang-hyun Kim (김광현) said, “In the AI era, what is more important than content is the creators who make the content.” He added, “Naver will spare no support and investment so the high-quality content created by creators can connect with Naver’s overall services and technologies and meet more users.”
