Korbit said on Wednesday it introduced a customer identification (KYC) method using mobile identification to strengthen customer convenience.
Mobile ID authentication allows users to verify their identity through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's mobile ID app installed on a smartphone, without a physical resident registration card or driver's licence.
With the introduction of mobile ID, integration with the mobile ID app now allows immediate authentication, enabling users to complete KYC procedures more easily.
Security is also strengthened. The mobile ID applies blockchain-based decentralised identity (DID) technology, blocking the forgery or tampering of personal information.
Korbit Chief Technology Officer and Chief Privacy Officer Jungwoo Lee (이정우) said, "With the introduction of mobile ID, users can use Korbit more conveniently." He added, "We will continue to do our best so customers can trade in a convenient and secure environment."
