Foblgate, also known as Foble, said on Feb. 4 it will formally commercialise a next-generation identity verification system that combines artificial intelligence-based facial recognition technology with an ID forgery detection solution, the first such system among domestic digital asset exchanges.
The integrated solution introduced by Foble operates two technologies in tandem: AI facial recognition and forgery detection.
The AI facial recognition technology precisely extracts a user’s facial feature points and compares them in real time with the ID photo.
It also includes a liveness detection function. It identifies abnormal authentication attempts using spoofed videos, photos or sophisticated masks in seconds and blocks impersonation attempts.
An AI-based ID forgery detection solution that runs at the same time determines whether an ID is authentic.
It detects a range of forgery traces, including printed IDs and images re-photographed from a monitor screen, as well as IDs with photos appended and specially manufactured plastic counterfeit IDs.
Foble CEO Ahn Hyun-joon (안현준) said, "This technology adoption is an essential choice to protect users' assets amid increasingly sophisticated financial fraud threats," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide a safe environment where users can trade with peace of mind."
