Woori Financial Group said on Monday it has reshuffled its 2026 roster of sponsored South Korean men's golfers to spread social value through sports support.
It said it has built a step-by-step sponsorship system that runs from identifying promising talent to supporting players' moves to overseas tours, with the aim of boosting the competitiveness of South Korean golf.
Woori Financial said it began sponsoring Sung-jae Im (임성재) in 2021 and has identified top talent each year. It said it has formed a nine-player roster this year, including global stars, domestic tour standouts and amateur prospects.
For this season, it added Tae-hoon Lee (이태훈), who recently moved to LIV Golf. Lee proved his competitiveness by ranking first in LIV Golf promotion after winning the 2025 Woori Financial Championship.
It also said it will continue sponsoring Jung-hwan Lee (이정환), who moved to the DP World Tour after winning last year's Genesis Championship. It will also maintain partnerships with Soo-min Lee (이수민) and Woo-young Cho (조우영) on the KPGA Tour.
It will also step up development of amateur prospects. It said that after Cho, a sponsored player in 2023, went on to win a professional tournament and take a team gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games, it has newly selected Hae-cheon Ahn (안해천) and Jae-yi Son (손제이) this year.
The performances of Woori Financial-sponsored players will be on display at the 2026 Woori Financial Championship to be held in April. A dream round, in which prospects compete alongside professional players, is also set to be run with global players taking part.
A Woori Financial Group official said, "Woori Financial is putting sincerity into sports and practising warm finance that gives hope to the public." The official added, "We will continue supporting the emergence of global stars such as Sung-jae Im, Jung-hwan Lee and Tae-hoon Lee, and serve as a strong support so amateur hopefuls and players in less popular sports can move onto wider stages."
