KB Kookmin Bank said on Feb. 3 it opened a Busan screening center dedicated to reviewing non-face-to-face loans on Feb. 2.

The Busan screening center was set up on the fourth floor of the Busan Beomil-dong Comprehensive Financial Center using unused space at a branch. It was built to improve the operational efficiency of digitally based financial services and provide customers with faster screening services.

Its main tasks include screening new credit loans and extensions submitted through KB Star Banking. It also covers extension reviews for bank-funded jeonse loans and Housing and Urban Fund jeonse loans.

The bank expects the center to create jobs in the region through measures such as rehiring retired employees and to contribute to revitalising the local economy. It also expects an effect on balanced regional development.

The share of KB Kookmin Bank's non-face-to-face credit loans rose to about 70 percent at end-2025 from about 60 percent at end-2024.

A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "We hope the Busan screening center will become a foundation for contributing to revitalising the local economy and balanced regional development." The official added, "We will continue to strengthen financial infrastructure so we can provide customers with faster and more convenient financial services."
