At least 4 AI researchers have left Apple in recent weeks, and leaders responsible for Siri have moved to Google and Meta, 9to5Mac reported on Jan. 30, citing Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg, Stuart Bowers, a senior executive who led Apple’s Siri project, has moved to Google DeepMind. He also took part in Apple’s self-driving car project.

The report said Bowers will be responsible for developing the Gemini model at Google. Apple is building the next-generation Siri based on Gemini. Apple’s AI and Siri teams have undergone a major restructuring over the past year, and in the process John Giannandrea, head of AI and machine learning strategy, stepped down from his position in December last year. He plans to remain an adviser until spring 2026 and then leave the company.
