Shinhan Bank said on Thursday it held a handover ceremony on March 5 at Saemmul Community Child Center in Sinhyeon-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, to send fruit boxes to all 176 community child centers in the city.

The ceremony was attended by Jeong Sang-hyeok (정상혁), CEO of Shinhan Bank, Shin Jun-beom (신준범), chairman of the Incheon Association of Community Child Centers, and other officials. It was carried out in cooperation with Chorokwoosan's Incheon regional headquarters.

The fruit support was arranged to help children at community child centers grow healthily and consume a balanced diet ahead of the new school term. A total of 900 fruit boxes will be delivered to each center over two weeks.

Shinhan Bank, as Incheon's designated treasury bank, has been pursuing inclusive finance based on cooperation with the local community, including financial support for small business owners and protection for vulnerable groups. It is also providing non-financial support tied to daily living alongside financial assistance.

Jeong said, "Creating an environment in which the future's young dreamers can grow up healthy is an important task that a financial institution representing the local community should naturally carry out." He added, "As Incheon's treasury bank, Shinhan Bank will continue to practise inclusive finance with an even greater sense of responsibility together with the local community."
