NH NongHyup Bank said on Friday it has opened the Wirye branch of its future-oriented unmanned outlet, NH Digital Station, which applies AI technology, and has begun full operations in line with accelerating digital transformation in finance.
NH Digital Station is an unmanned outlet centred on the AI-based next-generation financial device, NH AI STM, and includes a digital desk capable of video consultations and an ATM.
In particular, NH AI STM is an interactive financial device that starts by greeting and guiding customers after AI recognises their face when they stand in front of it. It supports a total of 17 services, including deposits and withdrawals, transfers and check card issuance.
It applies multiple biometric authentication using facial recognition and finger-vein patterns, enabling secure transactions without a card or passbook. It also significantly improves convenience for financially vulnerable groups such as older people and people with disabilities who find it difficult to use computer systems, it said.
The digital unmanned outlet will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. NH AI STM and the digital desk will be available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bank plans to sequentially expand digital unmanned outlets and NH AI STM services at major locations starting with the Wirye branch.
An NH NongHyup Bank official said, "This unmanned outlet, which introduced the digital desk and NH AI STM, will become a new branch model that improves customer convenience and accessibility at the same time." The official added, "We will continue to expand future-oriented financial services through customer-centred digital innovation."
