Dunamu, which operates the Upbit digital asset exchange, said on Wednesday it received citations for cooperating faithfully with government ministries' requests for information and contributing to the establishment of a transparent culture of holding digital assets.

The Ministry of Personnel Management awarded Dunamu a citation from its minister, citing its contribution to improving the reliability of work on the registration and screening of public officials' assets. It said Dunamu supported cross-checking and verifying digital asset holdings and transaction histories reported by public officials through the Public Service Ethics System (PETI) against actual information.

The Military Manpower Administration also presented Dunamu with a citation from its chief, citing its contribution to improving the accuracy and fairness of reviews for military service exemptions. Dunamu cooperated in providing and verifying data so authorities could accurately confirm digital asset holdings of those reviewed for exemptions due to livelihood difficulties.

An Upbit official said domestic digital asset holders now exceed 10,000,000 and digital assets have become a major asset for the public. The official said Upbit will continue its own efforts, as well as cooperation with various parts of society, so that digital assets can become more transparent and trustworthy assets.
