NCSoft said on Jan. 28 it will roll out an update for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Aion2 to strengthen its response to farming operations and improve user convenience.

Aion2 developers on Jan. 27 announced measures against farming operations during a livestream, including blocking certain overseas VPNs, upgrading the in-game reporting system and introducing a hardware-based blocking method. To prevent the spread of indiscriminate gathering macros, they raised the level required for gathering to 45.

During the broadcast, the developers disclosed the status of permanent bans and verification-related sanctions on illicit users and expressed their determination to eradicate farming operations. They plan to continue a tough response to create a fair game ecosystem.

NCSoft also carried out a range of convenience updates. It added a system to make skill use more convenient. It first applied a support function for "basic attack cancel" corresponding to left and right mouse clicks, and plans to expand it to other skills later. It also updated the "character storage" function, which many users had requested. Users can choose between character storage and server storage to keep items.

The company is also making changes to game content. In the PvP dungeon "Abyss Ereshlanta Middle Layer", kina and "Abyss Points" that can be obtained will rise by 40 percent. It increased the difficulty of boss monsters appearing in the middle and lower layers, and adjusted balance by lowering the stats of some monsters in the middle layer.

It is also making changes to "Sanctuary", the top PvE dungeon. Among the entry conditions, "reward count" is removed, leaving only "challenge count". Users who have only challenge attempts left can play Sanctuary content additionally, but they cannot open Odd Energy Cubes, which deduct reward counts.

Stigma skills for "Assassin" and "Chanter" will be improved. The performance of skills that increase a character's vitality, including "Survival Stance", "Health Enhancement" and "Sixth Sense Maximization", will be increased. "Blade Throw", "Infiltration", "Binding Trap" and "Voice of Destruction" will destroy all shields applied to the target, allowing them to create variables in combat.
