[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] Dom Kwok (돔 콕), co-founder of blockchain education platform EasyA, again underscored his confidence in XRP’s long-term value. In a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, he said, "The reason I went grey in my 30s is because there’s no way XRP will be below $1,000 by 2030." It appears like a joke, but his claim stems from a long-term investment thesis.

On Jan. 24 (local time), blockchain outlet The Crypto Basic introduced Kwok’s remarks and summarized the grounds he has laid out for his "$1,000 XRP" outlook.

Kwok has presented a $1,000 XRP forecast since 2025, arguing that XRP’s role in the global payments system matters more than short-term prices. He said the value of XRP would surge if institutional investment, large payment flows, stablecoin use and retail investor participation converge. He stressed that establishing XRP as a practical payment method is more important than replacing the SWIFT system.

He cited the scale of global money movement as XRP’s key strength. Billions of dollars move across borders every day, and he said network usage would jump even if the XRP Ledger (XRPL) takes only a part of that flow. Kwok pointed to Nvidia’s artificial intelligence boom as an example and said XRP could play a similar role in the global payments market. He added that if crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) spread, professional investors are also likely to take interest in XRP.

The end of a legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is also a positive factor because institutional barriers have disappeared, it said. Kwok said rising prices would create a virtuous cycle that draws in developers and users, and he assessed that there is significant room for further growth given that XRP has already recorded a market capitalization of more than $200 billion.

But there are also counterarguments to the $1,000 forecast. Critics say that if XRP reaches $1,000, its market capitalization would exceed $60 trillion, surpassing gold and global stock markets, making it unrealistic. Some experts are offering a cautious outlook, saying it may only be possible after 2040 rather than 2030. Kwok, however, maintains that expanding real-world use cases is more important than short-term prices.

Kwok’s $1,000 forecast is drawing both expectations and pushback because the target is so large. Ultimately, how much XRP is used for actual payments is key, and investors are focusing less on the number than on whether use cases are increasing and how the regulatory environment is changing.

fyi i did not go grey at the age of 30 for $XRP to be worth any less than $1,000 by 2030
