Apple is known to have adopted Google’s Gemini model to upgrade the Siri voice assistant with artificial intelligence, and Anthropic also actively pursued cooperation with Apple.
Bloomberg News reported on Jan. 26 that Apple at one point discussed a long-term contract worth billions of dollars with AI startup Anthropic, but negotiations stopped because differences over financial terms were large.
Apple considered extending its partnership with OpenAI, but an analysis says the decision to choose a contract with Google reflected improvements in Gemini’s performance and financial terms Apple could accept.
ChatGPT provided by OpenAI is still expected to be used in part for responses to complex queries.
