Wemade said on Thursday it will hold a won stablecoin tech seminar on Jan. 29 at SparkPlus Seolleung Branch 3 in Seoul's Gangnam district under the theme, "Infrastructure conditions for a successful stablecoin issuance."

The seminar was arranged to share specific case studies on how stablecoin infrastructure can be applied in a stable manner to legacy finance, fintech and payment systems. It will feature in-depth sessions from a practical perspective, covering not only technical implementation but also compliance, security and regulatory responses.

The event will begin with opening remarks by Kim Seok-hwan (김석환), a vice president at Wemade, and James Ang (제임스 앙), vice president for Asia Pacific at Chainalysis. Sessions will then follow from CertiK and Chainalysis, members of the won stablecoin alliance led by Wemade called GAKS (Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoin), as well as a Wemade official.

Wemade will also provide a detailed disclosure at the event of the technical structure of Stablenet, a stablecoin-focused blockchain that uses a won stablecoin as fees, or gas. Stablenet is characterised by proprietary technology that protects privacy while complying with financial regulations, and it aims to serve as a practical financial infrastructure.

A Wemade official said, "We hope Stablenet, designed to fully accommodate Korea's regulatory requirements and special characteristics, will become a foothold that leads real financial innovation as infrastructure optimised for the domestic financial environment." The official added, "We hope this seminar will be a meaningful occasion for industry experts to gather and discuss together a more developed future for won stablecoins."

Separately, Wemade plans to officially open the Stablenet testnet on Jan. 30 and move ahead in earnest with efforts to build a won stablecoin ecosystem.
