Database company Tmax Tibero said on Tuesday it has completed a cloud-native conversion project for the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service’s public-facing "Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service System".
The project fully redesigned a large administrative system used by an average of more than 2.5 million people per month from an on-premises environment to an NHN Cloud-based cloud-native environment, the company said.
The company said it expects the project to become a model case for cloud-native conversion in the public sector, as it migrated a core public system that requires 24-hour uninterrupted service and flexible responses to sharp traffic fluctuations.
In the project, Tmax Tibero upgraded the core DBMS (database management system), "Tibero DB", from Tibero 5 to the latest version, Tibero 7. It implemented a large-scale traffic environment and an MSA architecture.
Park Kyung-hee (박경희), CEO of Tibero, said, "This project is a case that once again proved Tibero’s technology and completeness by converting a mission-critical public sector system to a cloud-native environment." She added, "We will continue to lead the high-performance, high-availability cloud DBMS market as a digital transformation partner for public institutions."
