South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission said on Monday it held a completion briefing for the second build of the cross-government MyData support platform, called OnMyData, chaired by Commission Chair Song Kyung-hee (송경희).
The second build focused on advancing the platform so it can support functions such as downloading one’s information in various ways and a personal information repository that allows users to manage their data directly. An app service was added so users can access OnMyData more easily on a mobile app.
OnMyData’s second-stage service will undergo a pilot run through February and is expected to begin service for the public in March.
Song said the second build is an important turning point in changing MyData from a “difficult system” into a service the public can use directly in everyday life. She added the commission will continue to create an environment where people can easily check their information, manage it safely and use it freely when needed.
