Kakao said on Sunday it is running an AI image-generation promotion using its 'ChatGPT for Kakao' service that allows users to create their own 'My Zzordi' characters.

When a user uploads a photo, the AI analyses the photo's characteristics and recreates it as an original character image based on Zzordi. Zzordi is a group of characters that expands the universe of Jordy, a popular character in Ninize, into various looks, and was introduced in 2024.

Users who want to generate an image can enter the service by tapping the 'ChatGPT' button at the top of the 'Chats' tab in the KakaoTalk mobile app, then tap the menu at the top right and click the 'Create My Zzordi' banner. Users upload a photo (1 photo per attempt) on the promotion page and press the 'Generate' button, and the image is completed within minutes. A completion notification is also sent via a KakaoTalk channel message.

The chance to generate a Zzordi character image resets daily at 10 a.m., allowing users to create new images each day and enjoy collecting various Zzordi characters.

A Kakao official said, "We hope that through ChatGPT for Kakao, users will create their own special characters and experience AI services easily and in a fun way." The official added, "We plan to continue building usability so people can encounter and experience AI in various ways in everyday life."
