As of Feb. 23, trading volume using the x402 (x402) protocol, which supports payments between AI agents, has approached $400,000 after two months.
Filtered real trading volume was $290,000. Virtuals Protocol processed $270,000 in transactions, leading x402 trading.
x402 is a payment protocol designed to allow AI agents to make direct on-chain payments and exchange services without human involvement. It is drawing attention as an economic infrastructure between agents in which an agent requests work from another agent and immediately pays in cryptocurrency. It aims to become a machine-to-machine micropayments standard.
