[Barcelona, Spain = DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee (이진호)] KT will recreate Gwanghwamun Square, a landmark space in South Korea, at its exhibition hall at MWC26, which runs in Barcelona from March 2 to 5.

KT’s exhibition hall will be set up in Hall 4 of the main MWC26 venue. It will screen a video highlighting South Korea’s innovation journey centered on Gwanghwamun. Inside, it has recreated key Gwanghwamun sites, including a statue of King Sejong, KT’s Gwanghwamun Building West and the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.

The AX exhibition space is designed with motifs from Gwanghwamun Station and KT’s Gwanghwamun West office building. It will offer experiences that combine Korean innovative technology and culture, including “Agentic Fabric,” “Agent Builder,” “Agentic AICC” and “Vision Track.”

In the K-Square zone, KT will present the “Phishing Guard” voice-phishing detection solution and the “Genie TV AI Agent” with new functions. The Genie TV AI Agent is set to apply multimodal AI functions based on a large language model (LLM). The function provides answers by integrating analysis of images, text and audio on the TV screen, and the exhibition will reveal some functions.

KT will also run participatory programs themed around K-culture. They include an AR dance experience, the “K-POP Dance Challenge,” with K-POP idol “Cortys,” the “AI Hanbok Experience,” which lets users virtually try on hanbok using AI technology, and “Everyone’s Canvas,” which combines visitors’ images with AI-generated K-culture images and broadcasts them.

In the K-Sports zone, KT will introduce KT Sports’ “KT AI Stadium.” It will also offer a soccer shooting event wishing for the 2026 North and Central American World Cup, along with an experience in which “AI Lee Kang-in” delivers cheering messages in seven languages.

In the Archive zone, KT will look back on the history of South Korean telecommunications innovation against the backdrop of Gwanghwamun, along with content marking the opening of the “Onmaru” brand room on the second floor of KT’s Gwanghwamun Building West office building. KT also configured its exhibition hall into six themed spaces, including an F&B zone where visitors can experience a smart ordering and payment service based on Hi-Order, and a Network zone introducing an AI network vision for the next-generation 6G era.

Yoon Tae-sik (윤태식), executive director and head of KT’s brand strategy office, said the MWC26 exhibition hall would serve as an opportunity to introduce KT’s future technology vision to the global market using “the most Korean” themes. He added that KT would continue to promote its brand value, which harmonises technology and emotion.
