Blockchain infrastructure firm Alchemy has introduced a system that allows AI agents to buy blockchain data and automatically pay in USDC, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 27.
Alchemy AI agents can use on-chain wallets to access Alchemy’s blockchain data services. They can run network queries, verify NFT ownership, check multichain wallet balances and obtain real-time token price data.
The system uses Coinbase’s x402 payment standard to convert an HTTP "402 Payment Required" response into an automated payment trigger. Alchemy said major cryptocurrency applications including Robinhood Crypto, Uniswap, OpenSea, Aave and 0x are using its system.
