MetaMask will support the Tron (TRX) network on its Web3 mobile app and browser extension wallet, The Block reported on Thursday.
The update was carried out through cooperation between MetaMask and Tron DAO and was announced in August as part of MetaMask's multichain expansion strategy.
The integration lets users manage Tron-based assets in MetaMask and interact directly with Tron-based decentralised applications. It also enables asset swaps across EVM-compatible networks, Solana and Bitcoin. Users can send USDT on the Tron network, stake TRX and manage assets directly in MetaMask without an additional wallet.
Sam Elfarra, a Tron DAO community spokesperson, said the integration will make it easier for users to access MetaMask on the Tron blockchain, which handles more than $21 billion in stablecoin transfers a day. He said the use of payments and decentralised finance would expand further.
