NHN said on Thursday it has released a character promotion video for its collectible RPG Abyssdia that shows the story and appeal of its characters.

Abyssdia, set for release in the first quarter, is a collectible RPG that tells the story of "Tuners", beings with special powers to purify a polluted world. Ahead of launch, the company is sequentially releasing various content through its official community so users can learn about the game’s world view and main characters.

The character promotion videos released through Abyssdia’s official X account and YouTube are designed to help users more easily understand and enjoy the characters’ backgrounds and traits. Each character provides narration while showing various in-game scenes, including key battle sequences.

The newly released character, Irina, serves as commander of the Blue Moon order of knights in the Kingdom of Verania. The video shows Irina’s charisma as a strategist, as well as flashy skills and battle scenes, and reveals her unexpected appeal as a romance-novel otaku. Character promotion videos for Kalliaserin and Elpina are also available to watch, and additional character videos will be released in sequence.

On the official lounge, users can view four-panel comics, character scout files and world-view videos. The four-panel comics introduce the world view and characters in an approachable way through comedic direction that brings out each character’s personality, while the character scout files provide detailed key information such as name, age, race and special notes. The world-view videos are content designed to help users naturally understand the world of Abyssdia, which may feel unfamiliar.

Kim Sang-ho, head of NHN’s game business division, said Abyssdia is a collectible RPG that unpacks its world view through drama and relationships among characters. He said the company plans to progressively reveal the characters’ stories before launch so users can naturally immerse themselves in the game’s world.
