[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Crypto-focused investment firm Paradigm led a $7.1 million seed funding round for New York-based startup Noise, The Block reported on Tuesday.
The round included existing pre-seed investors Figment Capital and Anagram, along with strategic investors GSR, JPEG Trading and KaitoAI.
Noise offers an “attention market,” which is similar to prediction markets but differentiated. Users can bet by forecasting which topics will continue to draw attention online. It combines Google Trends with existing prediction markets and measures how much cultural value brands, trends and narratives sustain over time, The Block said.
Noise, launched in beta in May last year, attracted more than 1,300 users on an invite-only testnet.
Noise plans to move into full market validation through the Ethereum layer-2 Base mainnet backed by Coinbase.
