Sh Suhyup Bank recorded 288.2 billion won in cumulative pre-tax net profit for the first three quarters of this year. Shin Hak-ki (신학기), CEO of Suhyup Bank, reaffirmed his commitment to acquire non-bank financial companies to diversify its business. He also said the bank would speed up digital transformation by using an artificial intelligence-based work platform.
Suhyup Bank said on Oct. 30 it held the "4th Nationwide Branch Managers Management Strategy Meeting for 2026" on Oct. 28 at its headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
According to provisional third-quarter results released that day, Suhyup Bank's total assets stood at 69.2 trillion won, up 5.8 trillion won from the end of last year. Pre-tax net profit was 288.2 billion won, up 2.1 billion won from a year earlier.
Its subsidiary Sh Suhyup Asset Management posted 4.0 billion won in pre-tax net profit, up 5.0 billion won from the same period a year earlier.
The meeting discussed key fourth-quarter sales strategies and ways to improve business performance. It also introduced its first AI work platform, AIRO. AIRO consists of a work Q&A function using generative AI and an "advertising text identification AI" service that determines whether text messages sent by the bank are advertising. The platform is undergoing final tests, and the bank plans to gradually expand the scope of AI use in internal operations after verifying security and stability.
Shin presented AI transformation (AX) as a key task to strengthen the bank's competitiveness and also stressed the need to diversify the business through acquisitions of non-bank financial companies.
"AX is at the core of the bank's competitiveness and we will continue to expand the business," Shin said. "Acquiring non-bank finance is also a project we must pursue for business diversification, and we will complete it despite any difficulties and make a leap into a financial group," he said.
