Wemade Play has applied its self-developed Smart Match 3 engine to the mobile game Anipang 4.

Wemade Play said on Thursday the update replaces the engine used for puzzle development and the player environment and adds a haptic function.

The Smart Match 3 engine is designed to enable 1,000 puzzle computations and plays per second. Based on data training specialised for Match 3 puzzle development, it is used for evaluating puzzle difficulty and for testing.

Ahead of full deployment, Wemade Play checked about 8,000 existing puzzle stages using the Smart Match 3 engine.

During gameplay, it handles board control tied to basic block movement and combinations, and selects impact points when creating and using special blocks. Visual effects were also improved.

It also applied a haptic function using smartphone vibrations for the first time. It supports 8 types of haptics that provide different vibration rhythms and intensities depending on the force of special block destruction and reward situations.

Wemade Play plans to expand puzzle production using the new engine. It aims to release more than 200 puzzles a month, more than double the previous level.

Lee Kyung-min (이경민), producer of Anipang 4, said, "We expect to be able to reliably release more than 200 puzzles a month using the Smart Match 3 engine and provide new puzzle content and a better play environment."
