Disney+ said on Thursday it will roll out an "ad-supported standard membership" in stages from Nov. 10. From Nov. 17, all users will be able to sign up for the new plan.
The ad-supported standard plan includes ads before or during viewing, but costs 7,000 won per month. It supports up to 1080p Full HD video, 5.1-channel audio and simultaneous streaming on up to 2 devices.
For an additional 4,000 won a month, users can add 1 family member or friend living in a different household as an extra member.
With the launch of the new plan, Disney+ will also raise prices for existing tiers. For new subscribers from Nov. 10, the standard plan will rise by 1,000 won to 11,500 won per month and the premium plan will rise by 1,000 won to 16,500 won per month. Current subscribers will keep their existing rates for the time being.
