A warning has emerged that a $10,000 XRP outlook being discussed in the XRP community could instead harm confidence in the asset and undermine broader adoption.

On Oct. 27, blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported that XRP analyst Tony Edward (토니 에드워드) said overly ambitious price targets from some community figures were ignoring market realities.

The forecasts in question are extreme projections that XRP could surge to $10,000, and even $50,000. Edward said those figures do not adequately reflect the concept of market capitalisation. He added that financial institutions are more likely to adopt multiple blockchains together than rely on a single network.

He also said some XRP influencers could hurt the asset by presenting unrealistic price targets. He said investors should examine market capitalisation first rather than accept simple price predictions.

Edward also drew a line at claims that all central banks will use XRP or the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Calling it a "multi-chain world," he said networks such as Ethereum, Solana and XRP will take on different industries and use cases. That means expectations that XRP will absorb most institutional blockchain demand overlook the existence of competing networks.

David Gokhshtein (데이비드 고크슈타인) also voiced concern that exaggerated projections spreading on social media could erode trust among outside investors. He said such claims would require a scenario in which everyone converts their entire wealth into XRP, sells even precious metals and then sees a massive inflow of funds.

Gokhshtein did not rule out the possibility of reaching double digits. He kept some room for gains while distancing himself from ultra-high price forecasts.

Edward stressed that investors should diversify rather than concentrate their investments in a single asset. He said he holds the most bitcoin and plans to hold it long term as part of his retirement plan. He advised investors to build portfolios with a number of assets they can manage, rather than blindly expanding their holdings.

The remarks are seen as targeting the overheated nature of the price narrative rather than the bullish case for XRP itself. Assuming a market structure in which multiple blockchains, including XRP, coexist, he reiterated that investment decisions should be based on basic indicators such as the scope of adoption, competitive dynamics and market capitalisation.
