XRP remains weak, with attention focused on moves by large holders after exchanges posted net outflows of about $820,000 over 12 hours.
On Oct. 26, blockchain media outlet U.Today reported that CoinGlass data showed XRP spot inflows of $53.85 million and outflows of $54.67 million over the period.
A net outflow from exchanges is interpreted as a signal that investors may be choosing to hold rather than sell. Some observers also say large investors may be accumulating, judging the current price as an attractive buying zone. Still, the net outflow figure alone cannot confirm actual whale accumulation.
XRP slid to $1.29 on the day. It earlier hit a high of $1.39 on Oct. 21 and then fell to $1.253 on Oct. 24. It later rebounded somewhat but has moved in a range without a clear direction.
Technically, $1.40 is seen as the first resistance level. That price zone, which overlaps the 50-day moving average on the daily chart, has limited XRP's rise since Oct. 8. If it breaks through decisively, analysts say it could attempt to recover $1.50.
On the downside, defending the area around $1.25 is important. Sellers tried to push below that zone, but inflows of buying lifted XRP back above its 200-day moving average of $1.278. XRP is now trading between the 50-day and 200-day averages, with $1.278 presented as a short-term support level.
Ripple's Swell event, which takes place this week, is also a variable. Ripple has previously used Swell to announce major products and partnerships. This year it will, for the first time, run it together with Apex, an event for XRPL developers, institutions and investors, and UBRI Connect, an academic event under a university blockchain research initiative.
In the short term, the factors drawing market attention include whether exchange net outflows continue, whether the $1.25 to $1.278 support zone holds, and whether XRP breaks above the $1.40 resistance level.
The trend stands out in that fund flows on and off exchanges and the event schedule are drawing market attention alongside price moves. As XRP trades between technical resistance and support levels, Ripple is also raising its profile with various announcements ahead of Swell.
