SOOP has signed a media partnership with the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, extending its athletics content broadcasts for 3 years.

SOOP said on Tuesday it signed the media partnership with the federation at Seoul Olympic Hall.

Under the agreement, SOOP will exclusively broadcast in South Korea all competitions and content hosted by the Korea Association of Athletics Federations from 2026 to 2028. It will secure rights not only to live broadcasts of major events but also highlights and video-on-demand services, and plans to build an environment where users can enjoy athletics anytime and anywhere.

SOOP will also focus on producing original content that goes beyond simple match coverage to convey the appeal of athletics in depth. It plans to use the off-season to offer content such as athletes' training processes, in-depth interviews and variety-format programs reflecting the characteristics of each event, expanding points of contact between athletes and users.

With a recent running boom, athletics is moving into the realm of recreational sport, and interest across the discipline is widening as national team athletes, including high jumper Woo Sang-hyeok, have delivered results on the international stage. SOOP plans to provide higher-quality athletics content in line with this trend and contribute to revitalising foundational sports.

Lee Min-won, executive director at SOOP, said it would provide high-quality athletics content based on broadcast expertise built across various sports. He said that as a media partner to the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, SOOP would do its best to support the sport's long-term development and build a stable content ecosystem.
