[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ho-jung (이호정)] Kakao Friends is unveiling 16 types of Choonsik goods made in collaboration with 'Harry Potter'.

Kakao said on Oct. 15 it will sell the 'Kakao Friends X Harry Potter' collaboration goods from Oct. 16 through the online Kakao Friends Shop, KakaoTalk Gift, Musinsa and offline stores nationwide.

The collaboration is built around the concept, 'Welcome to Hogwarts Choonsik'. It is based on the premise that Choonsik and friends have enrolled in a magic school, applying key elements of the Harry Potter universe to Kakao Friends characters.

The characters are divided among four dormitories. Choonsik is placed in Gryffindor, Kkamsik in Slytherin, Greychoon in Hufflepuff and Cheese-nyang in Ravenclaw.

The lineup includes 16 types of goods, including random scene figures, dormitory keyring dolls, Dobby doll figure keyrings, cape blankets and Monster Book pouches.

The dormitory keyring dolls and the full set of random scene figures will be sold only through the online Kakao Friends Shop.

The company is also offering discounts by sales channel. It will provide a 5,000 won discount coupon for purchases of 50,000 won or more at the online Kakao Friends Shop and a 3,000 won discount coupon for purchases of 30,000 won or more at offline stores.

At the Hongdae flagship store, it will also set up a photo zone featuring a banquet scene with all four dormitory characters and a space using dormitory flags.

A Kakao Friends official said, "We began this collaboration with the premise that Choonsik and friends, who love Harry Potter, are enrolling in a magic school." The official added, "We incorporated elements of the two IPs throughout the products and the space."
