xAI has launched a bundled subscription product that combines its AI chatbot Grok, coding tool Cursor and social media X Premium into a single package. It offers five tiers ranging from $8 to $200 a month, providing multiple AI services in one place and seeking to expand subscription revenue by tapping its existing user base.

Cryptopolitan, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Oct. 13 that the new bundled product, called 'X Subscription', has five tiers from a free plan to a top paid plan. The separate subscriptions for SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium will be integrated, and users will choose a new plan based on usage and features.

The free tier offers limited access to Grok chat and image generation, as well as X's basic posting features. Paid plans start with Plus at $8 a month. Plus includes access to Cursor, Grok chat and voice features, the image-generation tool Imagine, shared credits for build tools, the Grok API and key features of the existing X Premium.

Premium, priced at $30 a month, offers about four times the usage allowance of Plus. It also adds access to the Grok bot and the latest Grok models, along with an ad-reduction feature across the X platform. Super, priced at $100 a month, offers 15 times the usage of Plus and priority access during peak times. Ultra, the top tier at $200 a month, supports 50 times the usage of Plus and early access to new Grok models.

The way usage is managed will also change. Limits for paid users will be operated based on a shared usage pool that renews weekly. Cursor employee Colin said in a forum post on Oct. 13 that the new paid plans provide at least twice the Grok model coding usage of comparable Cursor plans.

How existing subscribers will transition remains an issue to be resolved. Usage under the previous Cursor Ultra will be included in the new Ultra tier, but the old Cursor Ultra plan will not accept new subscriptions. Existing users are asking whether they need to cancel their current subscriptions themselves and what process applies for users on a $20-a-month plan to switch to the new product.

Policies for corporate customers will remain broadly unchanged. Team and enterprise customers can continue to use the service under the existing method, and per-seat pricing will not change. Coding usage limits will increase threefold.

The integration is expected to affect xAI's service expansion and monetisation strategy. With Grok integrated into the X platform, it can offer AI services to existing social media users without building separate acquisition channels. Bundling multiple products into a single subscription can increase access while also expanding recurring revenue.

This could also put pressure on competitors that charge separate subscription fees for individual AI services. Users can bundle multiple tools into one product instead of subscribing separately, but they will need to closely review feature differences, usage limits and switching terms compared with existing offerings.

Going forward, the key will be how much the bundled subscription can attract new paid sign-ups while minimising churn among existing users. Attention will focus on whether the bundled pricing plans can lift actual usage and retention, widening xAI's revenue base.
