Shinsung E&G, a company specialising in cleanroom and HVAC solutions, said on Tuesday it supplied a total of 35 units of its self-developed construction equipment, HPL (High Performance Lift), to sites including Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus and SK Hynix in Cheongju.
HPL applies a ground-level modular method when installing cleanroom ceilings, lowering risk to workers and cutting construction time by 20 percent. Shinsung E&G said it is providing solutions to improve construction efficiency as semiconductor fab expansions accelerate.
HPL can install 9.5 tonnes of materials at heights of up to 8 metres. The company emphasised that manpower efficiency improved by 25 percent because multiple units can be linked for simultaneous work. It also said workers were less frequently exposed to the risk of safety accidents compared with existing high-altitude work methods.
Shinsung E&G's Jeungpyeong facility has moved to full-capacity operations due to rising orders. It is producing site-tailored equipment, including a production line for FFU (fan filter units), a key cleanroom facility.
It is also expanding results in global markets. It completed the Texas Instruments (TI) fab project in Malaysia. It is currently focusing its capabilities on Samsung Electronics' Taylor fab project in the United States. Shinsung E&G also deployed SMR (smart mobile robot) and SML (smart mobile lift), automation solutions for material transport, in addition to HPL.
SMR and SML transport heavy materials instead of workers, blocking the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and safety accidents. They operate as an unmanned transport system that links data between processes. Shinsung E&G said it is pushing to make construction sites smarter through these devices.
Jeon Sang-hoon, an executive director at Shinsung E&G, said, "In an era when the speed of semiconductor fab expansion becomes corporate competitiveness, engineering capabilities that maximise construction efficiency while ensuring safety are essential." He added, "Based on HPL and automation solutions proven in large-scale projects at home and abroad, we will strengthen our position as a semiconductor infrastructure partner most trusted by global customers."
