KT Millie’s Library is providing three major works by Canadian writer Anne Carson, the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, through its subscription service.
Millie’s Library made available Carson’s “The Beauty of the Husband,” “Autobiography of Red” and “Red Doc>” to subscribers on Oct. 12. The release came shortly after the Nobel announcement.
Carson has worked as a poet, essayist and classicist, and in 2001 became the first woman to win the T. S. Eliot Prize. This year she was named the Nobel literature laureate in recognition of a body of work that combines classical tradition with modern forms.
“The Beauty of the Husband” is the work that won Carson the T. S. Eliot Prize. It depicts a woman’s experience of love, marriage, betrayal and divorce, blending it with the imagery of tango.
“Autobiography of Red” reconstructs the myth of Hercules from the perspective of Geryon in Greek mythology. It deals with two boys’ love, growth and loneliness, and is currently ranked No. 2 on Millie’s Library’s weekly best list in the fiction category.
The sequel, “Red Doc>,” tells the story of a middle-aged Geryon and Hercules meeting again and heading north.
Millie’s Library also opened an “All-Time Legend” corner featuring works by past Nobel Prize in Literature winners, alongside Carson’s works.
The corner introduces titles including Jon Fosse’s “Boathouse,” Annie Ernaux’s “Getting Outside Diary,” and Doris Lessing’s “To Room Nineteen.”
Lee Seong-ho (이성호), head of the Reading Party Division at KT Millie’s Library, said, “We will help readers encounter a range of literary perspectives through Anne Carson’s works as well as those of past Nobel Prize in Literature winners.”
