Security company ThreatBook has acquired CyberStrikeAI, an open-source AI penetration-testing platform.

SecurityBrief recently reported that CyberStrikeAI has received more than 6,600 stars on GitHub and has been deployed on more than 2,300 networks since it was released in late 2025. After the acquisition, ThreatBook plans to continue releasing the open-source version and launch a new enterprise version for corporate security teams.

ThreatBook will integrate CyberStrikeAI into red-team work that recreates attacks in controlled environments to help companies identify weaknesses in advance.

CyberStrikeAI can be installed with a single command. It visually shows attack paths and supports multiple large language models (LLMs). If users describe the target of an inspection in natural language, it generates a security assessment report. It also provides more than 100 step-by-step templates from reconnaissance to attack.

The enterprise version is installed on a customer's internal network and does not send data outside. It keeps records of all activity and separately manages permissions for each agent action. ThreatBook will also add control mechanisms to the open-source version to prevent misuse.
