KakaoGames on Wednesday launched the official service for 'Realm of Dokkaebi,' a new 2.5D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Supercat.
'Realm of Dokkaebi' is based on the intellectual property (IP) of Naver’s web novel and webtoon 'Myeolgwisudojeon.' It combines 2D dot characters with 3D backgrounds and presents a world view reflecting traditional Korean elements.
It is also holding in-game and external events with the launch. In a 28-day attendance event, players receive daily login rewards and a 'Hero Blessing Choice Box' as the final reward.
Streaming platforms Chzzk and SOOP are running a drops event. Users who watch broadcasts related to 'Realm of Dokkaebi' for a set time will receive coupons that can be used in the game.
It also prepared payment and platform partnership promotions. Google Play Games is running a coupon discount promotion, and it is also offering Google Play Points booster and KakaoPay point-back benefits.
Payment discounts for KT and LG Uplus users, along with promotions tied to Google gift cards and Culture Cash, will also run at the same time. Detailed conditions and participation methods can be found on the official community.
Cha Myung-soo (차명수), head of business at KakaoGames, said, "Even after the official launch, we will continue to check user feedback and reflect it in the service."
