K bank will temporarily suspend financial transaction services from midnight to 10 a.m. on Oct. 18 for system inspections and updates.
K bank said on Oct. 8 it will halt financial transactions via its app and website during that time to inspect core systems such as databases, servers and networks and to carry out infrastructure improvement work.
Services to be suspended include opening and checking new deposit and savings accounts and loans, domestic and overseas debit card payments and cancellations, deposits and withdrawals to and from partner virtual asset exchange Upbit, and deposits and withdrawals via cash dispensers and ATMs.
Customer consultations and processing through its customer service centre, deposit and withdrawal and card payment alert services, and transactions and inquiries for K bank accounts through other financial institutions will also be limited.
Transportation card functions will be available as normal. Reports of lost debit cards and voice phishing 피해 reports can also be filed through the customer service centre.
K bank said it is providing advance notice of the service suspension schedule through in-app notices, email, app push notifications and KakaoTalk alerts. It said the work will be carried out late at night over the weekend when customer use is relatively low, and the actual suspension period may vary depending on progress.
A K bank official said, "Please take care of important financial transactions in advance, such as loan repayments or real estate transaction payments."
