[Digital Today reporter Lee Ji-young] Sh Suhyup Bank again failed to select a final candidate for its next CEO. Neither Shin Hak-gi (신학기), the bank’s CEO, nor Lee Hyung-joo (이형주), head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), secured the four votes needed to be chosen as the final candidate.

On Oct. 6, the financial sector said the bank’s CEO recommendation committee held a meeting but again failed to decide on a final candidate.

Shin was reported to have won the support of three of the five committee members, while Lee received two votes. It was the same result as at the previous committee meeting.

Under the committee’s rules, a final candidate must win approval from at least four of the five incumbent members. With neither candidate securing the required votes, the appointment of the next CEO was postponed again.

Sh Suhyup Bank plans to hold another meeting in late October or early November without launching an additional recruitment process, and continue the selection.
