[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ho-jung] Kakao Entertainment will expand fan services by linking Melon and Berriz accounts, connecting features from music listening to fan verification and concert pre-sales.
Kakao Entertainment said on Sept. 29 it will begin linking accounts between its music platform Melon and global K-culture fan platform Berriz.
Through the integration, music streaming and download records accumulated on Melon will be automatically reflected in Berriz. It will allow users to verify fan activities without submitting separate printed materials during processes such as attending music broadcasts or applying for fan events.
Fan club verification information on Berriz will also be connected to Melon Ticket. It will be used to reduce separate authentication procedures when fan club members take part in concert pre-sales.
Kakao Entertainment plans to expand the scope of integration so users can check artists’ official schedules and news and official merchandise purchase information on Berriz based on their Melon accounts.
The roles of the two platforms will also be connected. Melon provides services centered on music listening such as streaming and downloads, while Berriz operates K-culture fan communities and artist communication, along with product purchase functions, across K-pop as well as dramas, variety shows and sports.
The company will also use the Berriz integration for 'MMA2026' to be held at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome on Nov. 14 to 15. Official voting for the newly established 'Global TOP10' category this year will be conducted on Berriz.
It will also run an event to mark the account integration. Users who apply to link their Melon and Berriz accounts on Melon's event page and then enter the event by Nov. 4 will be entered into a draw to receive 50 invitation tickets to MMA2026, a MacBook Pro 14, an LG XBOOM, AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and Baemin gift certificates.
A Kakao Entertainment official said, "The integration of Melon and Berriz is a starting point for connecting the diverse experiences through which fans enjoy K-pop into one," and added, "We will expand fan-centered services and advance the platform."
