[Digital Today reporter Seung-a Yoo] Blockchain firm Breez has added a stablecoin receiving function to its developer tool, the Breez SDK. As a result, users of applications based on the Breez SDK can receive stablecoin payments sent from more than 30 networks using only a bitcoin balance.

Bitcoin Magazine reported on Sept. 28 that Breez added a USDT and USDC receiving function to the Breez SDK. Stablecoins are issued and circulated across multiple cryptocurrency networks, which can require separate wallets for each network. With the new function, recipients do not need to add separate networks themselves. It currently supports more than 30 networks, including Ethereum, Base, Solana and Tron.

It also simplified how it is used. When a recipient selects the network and amount the sender will use, the Breez SDK generates a deposit address and displays the actual amount to be received. The sender can then pay from an existing wallet in the usual way.

Flashnet handles the payment conversion in the background. The funds are then deposited as bitcoin into the recipient's non-custodial wallet. If the recipient uses the stable balance function, the funds can also be received as a dollar balance.

The Breez SDK is a developer tool that helps app developers add bitcoin payment functions without building separate payment infrastructure. It handles wallet creation, sending and receiving funds, and Lightning Network payments. Developers can implement bitcoin functions with a small amount of code without running nodes directly or managing liquidity.

Breez launched a USDT and USDC sending function in June. With the receiving function added, stablecoins can now be moved in both directions across nearly all networks from a single Breez-based balance. It is a usability improvement following passkey login, Cash App instant onboarding and the stable balance feature.

Breez is focusing on making the user experience of bitcoin apps closer to that of typical fintech apps. It applied passkey login instead of seed phrases, simplified sign-up procedures, and added dollar-denominated balances and cross-chain stablecoin payment functions.

Breez launched a reference app called "Glow" in August to showcase what can be built with the Breez SDK. Glow is being used as an example that developers can use to check the SDK's functions and how to use them.

It is also expanding infrastructure for developers. Breez said it would push work in cooperation with Turnkey in July to enable apps that run wallets on their own servers to add non-custodial bitcoin. The move is aimed at resolving custody issues that have been cited as an obstacle in integrating bitcoin into consumer platforms.
