Ripple will join major South Korean financial firms in early October in Seoul to discuss XRP-based digital finance.
U.Today, a blockchain outlet, reported on Sept. 27 that Ripple will hold its “XRP Seoul 2026” event on Oct. 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul during Korea Blockchain Week.
Ripple President Monica Long (모니카 롱) and Markus Infanger (마르쿠스 인팡어), senior vice president of RippleX, will attend. From South Korea, Kyobo Securities, Woori Bank and KakaoBank are listed in sessions. Topics were presented as tokenisation, payments based on crypto payment networks and DeFi.
Hussein Janghanai (후세인 잔가나), community director at the XRPL Foundation, said ahead of the event that he is looking forward to next week’s XRP Seoul and sessions with Kyobo Securities, Woori Bank and KakaoBank. He wrote that the institutions are all making forward-leaning moves in tokenisation, crypto payment networks and DeFi.
The range of participants is broad. Ripple will be represented by J.A. The Seoul event is also drawing attention as the starting point for Ripple’s October schedule. The XRP community expects events and network upgrades to continue through October. The XRP Ledger is targeting next month for the rollout of proposals related to Batch, fixBatchV1_2 and delegated authority.
On the schedule, Batch and related amendments are targeting mainnet activation on Oct. 9. The delegated authority amendment is expected to be applied on Oct. 8. Both items carry a condition that support above 80 percent must be maintained during a two-week activation window.
A major ecosystem event is also scheduled for late in the month. Swell, a key event for the XRP and Ripple ecosystem, will run from Oct. 27 to 29. The sequence of widening touchpoints with South Korea’s financial sector at the Seoul event, followed by network amendments and a global event, is set as the core October schedule for the XRP Ledger.
