Deputy Prime Minister and Science and ICT Minister Baek Gyeong-hun (배경훈) visited a traditional market and a social welfare facility on Sept. 21 ahead of the Chuseok holiday to carry out community outreach.
Baek first visited Huam Market, where he met the merchants' association chief and merchants to check conditions at the traditional market. He also bought Chuseok outreach items, including ingredients for holiday food, using Onnuri gift certificates. He then visited the social welfare facility Yeongnak Aeniaui Jip and delivered donations raised by Ministry of Science and ICT staff and items bought at the traditional market.
“During Chuseok, we should share warm feelings so that marginalized neighbors around us do not feel lonely,” Baek said. “I will continue to do my best so that a culture of sharing spreads across society through sustained attention and volunteer activities.”
