Naver is strengthening product recommendations in its AI shopping agent by reflecting real-time delivery information such as order cutoff times and actual arrival dates.

Naver said on Sept. 17 it is upgrading its shopping application’s AI shopping agent so it selects and recommends products that can actually be delivered based on a user’s address.

If a user asks a question that includes delivery conditions, such as “Recommend a hotpot meal kit that arrives by tomorrow,” the AI shopping agent filters products that can be received by that time based on the set delivery address. It also provides the expected arrival date and order cutoff time for each product.

It also strengthened a function that identifies situations in which fast delivery is needed from natural-language queries. For example, if a user mentions suddenly colder weather and asks for a recommendation for an electric heating pad, it suggests product types while narrowing options to items that can be delivered quickly.

Use of the AI shopping agent is also rising. As of September, the number of conversations has increased about 60 percent compared with June, after its official launch, and transaction value through the AI shopping agent has risen 82 percent over the same period.

Naver plans to continue upgrading the AI shopping agent’s product search, comparison and recommendation functions by combining product information, real-time delivery information and review data with personalized recommendation technology.

Jung-tae Lee (이정태), a Naver Shopping Search and AI leader, said, “We are upgrading it into a shopping-specialized agent that performs 대신 the complex conditions and context-based exploration that users experience in the shopping process.” He added, “We will support users’ purchase decisions by combining real-time shopping data and personalized recommendation technology.”
