Nol Universe said on Tuesday that its NOL World Card, launched in May, has surpassed 10,000 issuances within three months. The NOL World Card is a prepaid card aimed at foreign tourists and a payment method jointly introduced by Nol Universe, Woori Bank and Kona I. It was designed to improve payment convenience and access to financial services for foreign tourists.

The card is issued at Woori Bank exchange counters at Incheon airport and can be used immediately after arrival. Exchange-rate preferential benefits are also provided. Users can exchange currency, top up and withdraw at Woori Bank branches and ATMs nationwide, unmanned exchange machines and partner kiosks, offering a range of channels.

To mark 10,000 issuances, a new design has been released featuring icons symbolising South Korea such as N Seoul Tower, the South Korean flag and Gyeongbokgung. An event is also under way in which users share the card design story on Instagram and Weibo and tag the Nol World account, with winners selected by drawing to receive tickets for the October NOL Festival.

Lee Soo-jung (이수정), a team leader in inbound business planning at Nol Universe, said, "We plan to develop the NOL World Card beyond a simple payment method into a link connecting NOL World's online services and offline experiences in South Korea." She added, "Going forward, we plan not only to link payments within NOL World, but also to expand a variety of card designs using K-content IP and partnerships with major domestic brands, making it an essential item for travel in South Korea that offers not only convenience and benefits but also collectible value."
